RaggZ fiber affair and wool market – join us on saturday april 23rd at the Delmont Fire Hall (conveniently located near the intersections of Route 22 and 66 in Delmont, PA) from 10 to 4. here you will find, independent dyers, spinners, and farmers will present their wares for the fiber enthusiast in you. this is our first affair but it will become a semi-annual event! the steel city fiber collective and several knitting/weaving/spinning guilds will be present as well. if you plan on attending, think about bringing a few things to donate to our ‘Give and Take’ table. you bring a few things you don’t want, and perhaps find something you want to take with you. look for a second venue in october. there is a Facebook page for this event so check it out, if you need more info, contact me.

SEPTEMBER STASHBUSTER SALE! (try to say that five times real fast) as i said last month, YOUR stash – not mine! this will be held some time in mid september – perfect timing after the Steel Valley Yarn Crawl. time to go through all that yarn which is overflowing in your drawers, totes, bags, etc. and get rid of some of it. especially the stuff you look at now and wonder why on earth you bought it in the first place. but remember – one woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure. this sale will run for two weeks to give everyone time to shop. contact me for rules and regulations and the inventory sheet which you will fill out. then bring all your yarn, books, needles, fiber/roving, even works in progress you want to get rid of. this stash sale is limited to yarn and fiber related crafts – not sewing, quilting, fabric, etc. maybe at some point we will encompass more, but for now, lets stick with yarn/fiber and see how it goes. other shops do something similar and it appears to be a lot of fun!
TRUNK SHOW WITH YOUGIOGHENY YARNS. Keri Fosbrink, a local dyer, is coming to show us her gorgeous hand-dyed yarns. she was a hit at the Pittsburgh Knit and Crochet and i am pleased she is willing to bring her amazing yarns to RaggZ. check out her Facebook page to see some of her original color ways. Keri has also agreed to teach the dye your own skein of yarn class, date to be announced.
BRIDGES OF GRACE MINISTRIES. i am happy to be a part of helping raise funds for this worthwhile mission. 100% of the proceeds go to this ministry – no giant piece of the pie going to administration. regular trips are made to villages in Guatemala and the missionaries bring back handmade bags, purses, camera cases, i pad cases, etc. ALL reasonably priced and wonderfully colorful. please be prepared to pay cash for these items, as i don’t run these sales through the shop. please consider purchasing one of these wonderful hand-made items and helping these villages. i own several myself and love them.
NEW DAYS/HOURS FOR 2016: Fridays from 10 to 5; Saturdays from 10 to 2; EVERY tuesday from 1 to 5. i hope these hours make it more convenient for you to shop. remember, i’m always available by appointment and am willing to open early/stay late as needed!
